¨Our Way¨
26 March — 9 April

”Our Way” is the title of our group exhibition at NoHo House Barcelona. It also represents how we see opportunities to move ahead in today’s dynamic and competitive art market.

In collaboration with WAY gallery Stockholm, we are proud to introduce two of their most exciting emerging Swedish artists to the Catalan art scene. At the same time, we will showcase a selection of works by Swedish artists already represented by NoHo House Gallery.
We invite you to immerse yourself in international art — each piece carrying its own unique story!
As part of this cultural exchange, NoHo House will also present one of our international Barcelona-based artists in Stockholm later this spring.

Here is a full list of artists of this exhibition:
Amanda Mendiant, Carolina Levén, Evelin Toledano, Florange by Viktor Palm, Georgina McIntyre Malou, Helen Tate, Jenny Larsson, Josef Valentin Jawed, Lars Tunebo, Maria C Bernhardsson, Monica Johansson, Sara Abramson, Sarah Mörk Petersen, Sofía F Stenström, Tove Eklund.

Josef Valentin Jawed

Josef Valentin Jawed is a Stockholm-based artist originally from Afghanistan. Moving to Sweden at 12, he found solace in painting, using it to process his experiences and observations. His work is deeply rooted in human rights advocacy, particularly highlighting the struggles of women and children.

With meticulous technique and suggestive expression, Josef’s oil paintings bring injustices to light, transforming complex emotions into compelling narratives. Inspired by contemporary artists like Tommy Carlsson and classical masters such as Leonardo da Vinci, he employs the Sfumato technique to create depth and softness in his figures.

His recent exhibition Deprived of Freedom at WAY Gallery Stockholm was a deeply personal project, reflecting his dedication to shedding light on the injustices he has witnessed firsthand.

Tove Eklund

Tove Eklund, born in 1980 in Gothenburg and now based in Stockholm, she is an artist working with mixed media, combining pastel, acrylic, and watercolour to create layered collages. Her work captures fleeting moments where figures and places interact, hinting at narratives beyond the canvas.

Each detail plays a role, depicting people seemingly caught in unfolding events—whether within the artwork or beyond.

“I want to show people and environments that allude to something outside the picture itself. A gaze that seeks out, and a feeling that something is happening in and beyond what is depicted.” – Tove Eklund

Tove's distinctive style was recognized at Liljevalchs Vårsalong 2024, where she exhibited three works. With her unique approach, Tove continues to push the boundaries of figurative art, inviting viewers into the stories within her work.
