What is Artistas Diversos?
Artistas Diversos is a platform that provides visibility to works of art, music, dance, theatre, literary works, etc., created by artists with a unique sensitivity and various types of disabilities. The goal is to enhance their quality of life and promote their employment inclusion.

Why is an association like ours necessary?
We aim to drive the Artistas Diversos Association so that all these individuals can make a living from their art, professionalize their incredible work and GIVE THEM A VOICE AND VISIBILITY.
As we grow, they grow, and so does the world.

What is the project's mission?
The dimension of the population segment, to highlight that in the European Union, we cannot disregard 12% of the population and the 37% that is involved in one way or another with this collective.
Combat discrimination based on their disability. Provide an international exhibition platform.
Promote free exhibition. Artistic expression. Advance from therapy to hobby and profession.
Communication, disseminate the visibility of art created by special individuals with disabilities.
Boost the self-esteem of a community of individuals who have a very special sensitivity that can make a significant contribution to the current environment. International meeting point, promote a meeting point for the exchange of ideas and experiences that enhance the quality of life of these artists – wherever they are in the world. Removing barriers to discrimination, opening a window to the world to promote the art of people who do not find viability in traditional channels. Collaboration with institutions, establish collaboration with institutions in different countries that support this community to boost art.

The need for an association like ours is rooted in several factors:
Giving Voice and Visibility. Many artists with disabilities possess exceptional talents, yet they often lack the necessary visibility for their work to be recognized. Our association strives to provide them with a platform where they can share their art and be heard.

Professionalization of Art. We aim to assist these artists in professionalizing their work, enabling them to make a living from their art and develop their artistic skills to the fullest. This not only enhances their quality of life but also enriches the overall artistic scene.

Combatting Discrimination. Discrimination based on disability remains a pervasive issue in many parts of the world. Our mission includes combatting this discrimination and demonstrating that individuals with disabilities have much to offer in the realm of art and creativity.

International Vision. By offering an internationally scaled exhibition platform, we seek to connect these artists with global audiences. This provides them with the opportunity to share their works beyond national borders.

Boosting Self-Esteem. Art can be a powerful tool for boosting the self-esteem and self-confidence of individuals with disabilities. We want them to feel valued and supported in their artistic pursuits.

Collaboration and Community. We facilitate collaboration among artists with disabilities and promote a global community where they can exchange ideas and experiences. This enriches their lives and provides them with a valuable support network.

Breaking Down Barriers. Our association aims to eliminate the barriers that prevent these artists from finding opportunities in traditional artistic channels. We believe that art should not be constrained by boundaries or biases.

In summary, the mission of the Artistas Diversos Association is to promote the inclusion, professionalization, and visibility of artists with disabilities. We work to empower this unique artistic community and create opportunities for their talents to shine worldwide, while also dismantling barriers and combating discrimination.

Objective? Art knows no disability.
We aim to create projects and activities such as concerts, exhibitions, contests, auctions, decoration, publications, and more to enhance the quality of life for artists with disabilities, nurture their talent, and foster professional development. Our goal is to advocate for the compatibility of disability pensions, which most receive, with professional income, whether through third-party work or self-employment, without the risk of losing their pension. This way, we strive to lift them out of poverty and the discrimination they often face.

Who are some of the artists that belong to the association?
Kelly Arrontes, Mario Barguñó, Jose Manuel Barriga, Aleix, Isaac, Ana Guerra, among many others, are part of our community. They believe in us and in our way of assisting them.

Myrtha Casanova is the President of this non-profit association. She founded it to give a voice and assistance to her inspiration: her son, Mario.

Art knows no disability. The uniqueness of this project is the message conveyed by Mario Barguño through his example. An artist with both psychological and physical disabilities, Mario boasts an impressive life CV: resilience, self-discipline, personal development, and integration into society. As an artist, Mario invites others to navigate the world with pride in their talents. Because, first and foremost, they are artists, and any disability is just one of the many diversities that characterize humanity. He sets an example and paves the way for other individuals with disabilities to gain self-confidence and express themselves through art and culture without reservation.
